Dr. Aaron Lohmeyer is Associate Professor of Music Education and Jazz Band Director at Winona State University. 

He received his BA in Religion from Davidson College, MM in Saxophone Performance from Florida State University, and both his MEd and PhD in Music Education from Florida State University. His other professional training includes Orff Schulwerk Level I in Kenai, AK, and Levels II and III from the University of Kentucky. 

Dr. Lohmeyer has developed his pedagogy and research interests through public school teaching experiences in classroom general music, beginning band, world drumming, class guitar, jazz band, adaptive music, and creative composition. He maintains an active performance schedule in jazz, classical, and popular music styles on multiple instruments.  He’s currently pursuing ways to integrate his jazz musicianship with electronic music performance.
